The Language Training Partnership established in 1992 by Joe Glancy, experienced language tutor passionate about bringing language learning to the North East.
Became a Limited Company LTP2000 in 1999 with fellow founder Director, John Laybourn, with a strong business and financial background, specialising in financial translation from Spanish and Italian to English and tutoring ESOL and Spanish.
Based at the North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC) working closely with the Regional Language Network and the North East Chamber of Commerce.
Were approved as an examination centre by the NEAB in 1996 and subsequently by EDEXCEL.
Won the “Regional Language Trainer of the Year” award in 1997/8 and again in 1999. Later approved as an examination centre by the Institute of Linguists.
Built up an impressive portfolio of regular clients including Nissan, Unipres, Sunderland Marine, Sunderland AFC, Parker Domnick Hunter.
Became virtual clients of the BIC as classes began being held more frequently at clients’ premises to suit their needs.
Built up a pool of translators and interpreters across many locations and covering an extensive range of languages and disciplines.
In 2012 John Laybourn retires continuing to act as a consultant and tutor for a short time, while Sue Navarro takes over as Director.
Building on the company’s success and close ties with the BIC, UKTI approved export specialists, and other service providers, continues to expand and to develop web presence and marketing tools.
